really wanted that mask and couldn't find it anywhere so i decided to make my own.
materials:
vinyl
lining fabric of you choice
hot glue gun
sewing machine (optional)
sharpie or black fabric paint (part 2)
LET's start
|
you're going to have to make your own template. trace it onto the vinyl and cut out two pieces. Remember the pieces have to be the opposite of each other. see pic down below. leave a seam allowance for the middle (nose area). |
|
see? each other's reflection. |
|
sew the right sides together. |
|
cut little slits (be sure not to cut too much or else you'll cut the sewn part.) pick out a lining fabric (you don't have to line it, but it will be more comfortable for your face.) cut the same two shapes as the template WITHOUT seam allowance |
|
hot glue the lining fabric down and start gluing the middle slits down. |
|
should look something like this. sorry for the blurry pic. |
|
take a strip of the lining fabric and hem it with glue. turn the mask inside out and glue the strip if fabric over the middle to conceal seam. |
|
looks like this. |
so end of part one. part 2 up soon!!
Omg this is awesome!! ^.^
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering about the size...how long/wide is the pattern in the beginning supposed to be?
♥
it's about six inches wide from the longest point. but its always better to make it a little bigger than making it too small. good luck!
ReplyDeletep.s. if it helps you can make a stencil out of paper. use tape to hold the middle together and trim to your face shape then cut the tape and trace onto vinyl.
ReplyDeletethanks a lot :))
